earrings for a cause

pancreatic cancer is the fourth most common cause of cancer death in the world and thousands of americans are diagnosed every year. most patients receive a poor prognosis: the one-year survival rate is 20% and the five-year survival rate is a discouraging 4%. support for research and awareness about the disease is incredibly important. the Lustgarten Foundation, with a mission “to advance the scientific and medical research related to the diagnosis, treatment, cure and prevention of pancreatic cancer”, does inspiring work for the cause and has helped countless individuals and families affected by the disease.

in honor of the 8th anniversary of my grandfather’s death from pancreatic cancer, I am launching a special collection of earrings to benefit pancreatic cancer research. 100% of the profits from the designs, which can be found on my etsy site, will go to the Lustgarten Foundation. the designs are made using purple and white materials, in honor of the colors that represent pancreatic cancer awareness.
